The Depot Dames

Today was a great day! I had the pleasure of spending time with my mom & her two older sisters. We get to see each other tons during the precious months of the season, however, we are approaching the end of camping weather; boo. Literally. Halloween, much?

There’s never a boring moment at the Depot as there is always someone available to lend a laugh. This morning, while Linda & Barbi were on a morning stroll with the pups, Patti sat perfectly still next to a life size plastic skeleton. Linda & Barbi were waltzing by and were completely surprised when Patti said, “You’re missing it!” Linda & Barbi didn’t see Patti next to the skeleton and everyone got a laugh.

One thing that never fails, the sisters sure know how to have a good time! A sense of humor goes a long way in this family…

Around noon, the sisters jumped in Barbi’s car & headed to town for some thrift shopping; the sales did not disappoint. Barbi was excited to find a top for her hippie costume and some loose-knit Halloween netting; 99 cents?! Can’t afford not to get spooky with those prices. Linda scored some storage bins & Patti thrifted a couple cute shirts.

After a few stops, the hatch of Barbi’s car was loaded like a gypsy caravan. The gang headed “home” and stopped at Dollar General Market where they were pleasantly surprised with the grocery selection.

Finally, after a long day of being out and about, we made it safely back to camp. Unloading our hauls only took a moment, and Linda immediately got busy preparing the sautéed onions as the first step to making goulash. After a lesson in the kitchen, the Depot Dames sat down & gave thanks for such a pleasant day with wonderful company.

Dinner was excellent. Barbi prepared a vegetarian goulash while the rest of the Dames enjoyed their burger-infused dish. The cherry on top of the meal was hot & delicious garlic bread, thanks to Patti’s thoughtfulness.

Mike made his way back to the depot and he sat down with the Depot Dames for a game of golf at Linda’s to end the night on an amazing note.
